About us

At Science & Humanities we are dedicated to making science fun and stretching more able students. Since our first courses more than ten years ago we have grown from providing places for about 150 students a year to more than 11,000 places and over thirty different courses. We are now the provider of the largest number of science based courses to the National Programme for Gifted and Talented Youth.

In addition to being an accredited and approved supplier to the national programme we develop bespoke programmes such as The Leading Edge, Surviving the Carbon Crisis, Famine – Who Lives? Shockwave and Science Matters for Local education Authorities. Programmes are from a few days long to a fully fledged 10 day Summer School.

Our international science centre development consultancy has contributed to many world class science centres including, @Bristol, ThinkTank, Sensation, and The National Forest Centre in the UK and The Invention Factory in the US, and The Botanical Discovery Centre in Shajah. At the Singapore Science Centre we are currently engaged in programmes providing interactive modules for schools, exhibition consultancy and training for local teachers.

We work with the national network of Science Learning Centres to provide teacher continuing professional development with topics such as, Active Science for G&T, Science on a Shoestring for primary classes, and Experience Counts working with both teachers and students at the same time.

We are also involved in national programmes such as the schools science clubs.

All of our activities are designed to be stretching for students and fun with a real firm science foundation. At every level courses are delivered by appropriately qualified presenters from professors and senior academics for the most advanced courses for older students to G&T specialists, Advanced Skills Teachers and senior teachers for primary level courses. All courses are subject to the quality standards of the national programme.

Exciting, fun, practical story based courses, problems to be solved.
